Plucked from Lifeby hopelessoptimistComment by jmlelii: It looks as if you have used flash for this shot. Flash (when used correctly) can be very eye pleasing.
You covered the topic very well. I think I would like to see this photo as a High Key shot. Or even further, maybe a single light source (It looks like you've used two lights here, one above camera right, and one camera left @ lens height to give the more drastic shadow) I think having both shadows takes away from the flower. Also I would of tried to rid the right corner of the dark area.
To be repetitive, I think this would make a fantastic high key shot. |

...why not catch it on fire?by hopelessoptimistComment by Brad: Nice artistic interpretation on this challenge.
There is beauty in what society calls an eyesore.
Foreground foliage is a bit soft and lacking detail and overall the shot may have looked a little better had it been shot at a slight angle so the main focal point wasn't dead center.
Unusual title too. |
