Standing Strongby beamsclanComment by Simonkasprzak: Nice, it would be better if the clouds were not so dark, because they almost act as a second subject, and detract the attention away from the tree. Maybe a smaller crop to eliminate the grass on the left side as well would be good. A little too dark shadows and a little to light highlights. Needs less contrast perhaps. Good try though, 4 |

Standing Strongby beamsclanComment by Niten: A little overprocessed to suit me. I bet this does pretty well with most voters though. Nice use of the sky. |

Standing Strongby beamsclanComment by Zed Pobre: Eek. Blown highlights all throughout the sky, hurting the eyes and drawing the eye away from the tree into the pure white glare behind it. The wide open space of dull brown sand on the left also fades into some very fuzzy vegetation, which isn't very attractive.
The only positive point is that the colors in the sky on the right are absolutely gorgeous. If you had framed this vertically around the tree, giving it more textured earth below and more dark cloud above, cropping tightly left and right, it would have been much better, avoiding much of the blown white on the left. |

Standing Strongby beamsclanComment by rebelo: It's unfortunate that the basic rules of editing restrict the post processing of this image so much. Being able to brighten up the tree and calm down the overexposure in the sky would really make it an interesting shot. Good composition spacially, but those two elements really take away from it, IMO. You should clean it up for your portfolio with advanced editing just for show. |
