Spring Budby WalesPComment by colorcarnival: If you had bug butt in this photo, it would have scored WAY HIGHER hehe. Now that I've really had a chance to think about this, I think the only thing I would have done different is crop off the top to get rid of the red. The red in the right corner isn't in a good spot to add to the photo. The leaf you have focused on looks wonderful and I'm thinking the red detracted from that.
But bug butt would have fixed all these issues :D |

Spring Budby WalesPComment by lglawrence: The green plant and background are competing for the frame. There is a little too much upper and right side space. You did well with the capture.
I think if the frame was more tight against the plant it might work. I think you were using rule of thirds, but in this case you can break the rule. |

Spring Budby WalesPComment by Melethia: I like the way the fingers of red are reaching in from each side. Kind of like they're encouraging the bud in a way. Very nice composition. |

Spring Budby WalesPComment by surfdabbler: I would be inclined to crop off the red flowers. The strong point of this image is the rich greens, subject matching background, and the reds distract from the subject, rather than positively adding colour. |

My Own Brother...by WalesPComment by dafletchr: A tad dark for me, almost missed the roses. But the story and sentiment are there - thanks to wide open blinds. Gee, think those scoundrels would be more private. |
