I think this shot would had done well, it appears its reall important to size your photos to a least 600 on the longest side not to exceed 640. on this site...other than that It appears technically perfect, good compostion...sets the mood....6

Abstract photos tend to get voted a lot lower for reasons that are beyond me. Abstract lines that are not necessarily abstract could be construed to be so, if the context of the photo is not portrayed through the capture. Meaning, I personally take to abstract, but a lot of people do not. If you want higher votes, stay a little farther away from pictures that people can't decipher what they are looking at. This is your first challenge, so the learning curve might be steep, but you will rise fast. Check out my first couple of challenges versus what I am submitting now. As for my part, in two months I can already feel a big difference. So in my opinion, don't give up on the site, because it has taught me a ton of technique, process and thought. Hope that is enough of a comment for you.
