Nice idea. I like the composition of the image. I think that the lighting needs to be adjusted though, because the image is too dark. Good job.

the white egg greyed out your snow. maybe an exposure compencation on +0.3 may have lightened and whitened the snow some (+ adds light - subtracts light)

Critique Club Critique

(1) COMPOSITION (CONTENT) This is a wonderful photograph. The absolute simplicity of the photograph is its real strength.

(2) BACKGROUND The background seems to go on forever. This vision of infinity gives the photograph a surreal feeling, almost like in a dream.

(3) CAMERA WORK ,TECHNICAL The DOF is very good, all of the important parts are in sharp focus. You have used leading lines (the poles and wires) to lead the eye back and back and back. It seems to go on indefinately. You have also used the rule of thirds in a very creative way here, you have placed the horizon on the bottom 3rd, allowing the sky to become a very important part of the photograph. I have read the comments you received from others, and I have to agree that the one little distraction is the shadow from the pole that is not seen.

(4) DIGITAL PROCESSING ,TECHNICAL Your post processing is good. Saturation is good. You did a very good job of keeping the snow white instead of blue.

(5)MEETING THE CHALLENGE I am not sure how this is a cliche. Mpsst of us try to keep telephone poles OUT of our shots. Still a very nice pic.

(6) MY OPINION ON THE PHOTO The subject here is wonderful. The way you executed it is great. This was one of the best of the cliche pics.

Very different type of subject matter, but not a popular one? Nevertheless, good eye for catching this scene, and well captured.

I like it - ironic as i'm always trying to keep the power lines out of my shots.
