looks like there was a lot of work don around the edges of this image. obscuring a background is illegal even in advanced. I hope it is legal. assuming it is, it gets a 6 from me. :)

This will likely get you a ton of sentimental votes. Adorable pooch. Black eyes and button nose really focus the shot, although the fur (esp. the ears) looks oversharpened. Also, there is a real loss of detail at the top of the head.

Cutie pie! But this feels too much like a snapshot for me. I think perhaps if the eyes were sharper and the nose were slightly oof, so that there's more of a feeling of depth that might fix it up nicely. The eyes look really uneven to me. One looks so shiny and one looks really cloudy. Maybe that's the way it really is, but it almost feels like editing or something.

Greetings from the Critique Club

This is a beautiful entry to the "Bubbles" challenge, right on the mark as far as meeting the challenge, a fun image.

Positives: The feel, it sells the image. The girl looks like she's enjoying the bath and the bubbles all to pieces, "bliss" is the perfect description for this. The strong, yet gentle approach.

Negatives: It looks overly neat-imaged - too much detail lost. Crop.

Technicals: I see no problems with your exposure, and the conversion to B/W is beautiful. As mentioned above, a bit heavy on the neat-image. There seem to be some sharpening artifacts (slightly distracting).

Presentation: Image and title go together perfectly. B/W is a very good choice for the image. IMO, the image would be stronger if it were cropped a bit tighter on the right side, that is, if about 1/10 - 1/8 of the space at the right hand side of the image (her left shoulder) were cropped off.

I hope this helps. Feel free to contact me if I can be of further help.

~Ursula

I really like this. It's fun yet gentle and the tones are nice. I like the motion blur of the bubbles in the top left. It is a real shame about the loss of detail in the foam on her shoulder. I would have cropped the image just above that point to get rid of the distraction. If it wasn't for that one thing I think this picture would do much better.
