I am going to guess that there is more work that was done on this than it looks like... The edging on the sparks looks a little different than what I expected. Further, the placement of the center of the event, plus the alignment, while it may have been unplanned, looks really cool to give a slight chaotic effect.

I would have desaturated the blue and green channel to get rid of the odd stuff in the far left of the pic.

Certainly meets the challege but to me it would have been stronger with less objects. More than a couple take the image from descriptive to distracting. I think the lighting could have been a little better - the viewer perspective has a lot of dark shadows. 6
