Feeding the birdsby TUBORGComment by karmat: CRITIQUE CLUB CRITIQUE
by karmat
Compositionally, I really like this shot. The boy, the pillar at the end of the dock and the ducks form a nice triangle that give the eye a contained place to "roam," so they stay in the frame. It also gives a stable base to the shot and that gives it a sense of balance.
Technically, I think have the deep dof that you have works well here. Ordinarily, it could be distracting, but here, it keeps that triangle I mentioned in focus as well. The other ducks are small enough to provide context without being distracting. I like the basic sepia tone, though it does seem to be a touch on the reddish end of it.
Overall, it is a good shot that is well done, and meets the challenge.
Best to you in future challenges.

The last songby TUBORGComment by angelfire: wow this is morbid :) interesting idea. The only technical thing is that there is really harsh light on the arms making them way toooo white. However, it does give it that been dead a while ghostly hue if you have an open mind to it :D |
