One good thing about a side challenge is there are no rules and (if you wanted to) you could really go to town on this image. Aready a great shot I do like all the rooms with light and although the floor is very dark it looks as if some (ok lots) of dodging and burning would create a great textured floor. The stream of daylight shinning along the wall to someones 'tag'? would make a picture on its own.

Had a quick look in your port and you have some great B&W images, isn't 2008 going to be fun :)

I like this one the way it is. I think the darkness heightens the effect of the interior of an old abandoned building.

Good lighting here.. Don't know if it would be possible but I'd like to see more of the stairs so there would be a connection with the upper left & lower right light sources.

That was the year I graduated. I meant to come back. But I couldn't bear to look at where I'd been through that window. Sometimes, you would be so impatient for the phone to ring that you would stop staring at the phone and stare at the pole outside, as though you could catch a hint of the signal before it reached the house. We were both trapped. The window framed us both.

Yay - glad to have you jump in! And what a delightful treat this is. Light, dark, rooms to be explored, up, down... wonderful!

Okay - Now I am really happy!....Welcome Christoph to the wonderful world of B/W Image of the Week. What a great start to the side challenge for you. The darkness and grain really contribute a great sense of impending loss or abandonment. The placement of the lighted staircase in the lower right really anchors the image and provides a great balance to the windows at the top.
