Stevie Ray Vaughanby loveComment by kleski: When I lived in Austin, years ago, I heard about this statue but never went to see it regrettably. I like the framing of the picture and the subject. The lighting seems to be around midday or mid-afternoon which really causes limited contrasts to the statue. The blown out buildings in the background are a nice touch but seem tilted. Black and white was a good choice as well. Anyway, knowing limited DPCers in the Austin area I would think that this is love. |

Stevie Ray Vaughanby loveComment by Luci11e: MAN I LOVE STEVIE!!!!! You've done a good job with this photo, my only suggestion would be a bit of light on the face - good black and white - nice job |

Stevie Ray Vaughanby loveComment by tano_gooch: I like your idea, but would have liked to see more light on the face. Perhaps if shot from the other side, it would have also put more emphasis on the guitar? My eye is drawn more to the cloak than anything that is particularly "Stevie." |

E.T. Phone Homeby loveComment by MelonMusketeer: This is delicious, and my favorite time of day.
You didn't post your camera settings with this, so I am just guessing that you were shooting at a high iso. Try some night shots as iso 100 or 200 and it will help a lot with the grainy look in the lower lighted areas.
I'm a relic from the days of film and chemistry, so I sort of like photos with a bit of grain, but they get hammered in voting here at DPC.
This is well composed, and I am ok with the telephone pole. You made a good connection with the title and the pole. |

Birdwatchingby loveComment by zencow: Neat silhouette effect, with some detail still there, looking like it was painted in by a careful artist. |
