| Distant Lightsby BrianRComment by rjkstesch: Is this the Great Salt Lake? You could strengthen this shot by straightening the horizon and cropping the horizon on the 1/3 line (about.) The foreground dirt doesn't add to this shot. You have more potential with this shot than shows now. |

| Distant Lightsby BrianRComment by UNCLEBRO: the horizon seems tilted and there is really nothing of interest in the picture.
Sorry to be so negative about your picture :-)
It's not bad, just doesn't hold my attention for long. |

| Distant Lightsby BrianRComment by Simonjw: You might have had this comment alot, but the tilted horizon really could really use some straightening |

| Distant Lightsby BrianRComment by notonline: When submitting a photo you should check to see if its level. Even tho it is the precieved angle it is very distracting and can be corrected with a rotation or some sort. In this case I would have rotated the image about 2 degrees CW. This would have made the horizon centered and less appealing so I would have also then had to change to crop. I also find the focus s a little off/out. Good luck in this challenge. <5> |

| Distant Lightsby BrianRComment by muur88: i think the textures have alot of merit, especially that water mixing in with the sand. i think you needed to exploit them a bit more with photoshop. perhaps with a bunch more contrast. an alternative route if you did want to showcase the lights would have been to use a much smoother foreground that didn't grab so much attention. and of course everyone is killing you on the horizon line |
