Southern Jacarandaby BrianRComment by Melethia: Gorgeous! They have these in southern California - they bloom in late spring, early summer and are simply beautiful. |

City In The Seaby BrianRComment by J-Me: This one most definitely deserved a MUCH higher score! So sorry that some DPCers are not seeing value in shots that deserve to be recognized. This was a fabulous entry. |

Sailing Homeby BrianRComment by mcaldo: Not sure about this. While the three tones work well (very bright boats, very dark sea and midtone land/sky) the image lacks of definition and the framing is very static. I think cropping out most of the image left of the boat would give more the impression of directing home, particularly if the vassel was actually oriented more towards the shore. The blotchiness of the image is a bit of a let down. Challenge and basic editing aside, I think it would work better blurring the image and adding quite a lot of fake analog grain in photoshop or some other software. |

Southern Jacarandaby BrianRComment by gyaban: I really love these trees, they are quite unusual around here, but they are very beautiful to the point I think we are going to try and make one grow. Thanks for sharing with us this incredible view! (bumped the score)
ETA: If you could take a photo of those at morning, with a pinkish sky, I think you would get really something fantastic! |

Sailing Homeby BrianRComment by blindjustice: My type of shot! black and white is perfect, the contrast and juxtaposition between far and near boats creates interest, and the noisy grainy feel is an old familiar friend. The border must have been a tough choice, but it works. 9 |
