Standing By The Pondby BrianRComment by hahn23: This is excellent. I understand that you wanted to make the tree look vertically squared to the frame, but you tilted the image to accomplish the look. (at least that's my reaction) Now, I would have accepted the horizon sliding downhill to the right, but it's the water which betrays. What a wonderful sky and exposure. Magnificent colors and amazing dof. The clipped branches on the right side are a minor distraction. Should be a ribbon winner, but I can't say for sure how many will be distracted by the minor landscape issues. 9 |

Standing By The Pondby BrianRComment by manic35: Nice lighting of the tree - the horizon is distracting (i know it's a hillside, but it's amazing on DPC how focussed you become on straight horizons: sorry!!!!). 6. |

Standing By The Pondby BrianRComment by GIS_boy: This comment could be a bit of a personnel taste but this looks a little over=processed. The trunk of the ghost gum looks a little too green for me. That being said I love the composition and sublect choice. I think you'll receive some comments regarding the horizon even though I'm sure this is a hillside. Good luck 7 |

Sergeant Moore & His Wife, 1870by BrianRComment by Blackbox: Awesome photo but what is their personality? Old fuddy duddie's? Just kidding. Hmmm? Maybe I should joke around: I think he's packin' a gun there. The focus is certainly sharp - very sharp indeed. |

A Storm in the Hillsby BrianRComment by Covert_Oddity: Great dramatic clouds and good tonal range. Not sure what your subject is though, the highest tree possibly? After looking at this for a while there are two things which I don't like about it. The cloud to the left of the shot is more prominent than the rest and steals my attention, but it's not quite interesting enough on its own to make the shot. The second thing is what I already mentioned, a lack of any real subject. |

A Storm in the Hillsby BrianRComment by Jammur: needs a little more tonal range, at least on my monitor, and would have like the comp a bit more to the right, cropped a bit closer to the right most tree.
Great choice of subject .... |
