Mandi1.jpgby nomad469Comment by mystical_princess: Over all nice shot. I'm not crazy about the pose though. I would also do some glamour glow to her face to soften it just a tad, and then boost the contrast a little. Doesn't need much really, nice shot! |

air power c. 1945by nomad469Comment by saloonstudios: i agree the horizon, and yeah i guess someone might have a problem with the prop being motion blurred, maybe it just isnt what they wanted. i think its an awesome photo and i know what the 1,2,3 stuff can feel like. thats just a natural averaging going on |

air power c. 1945by nomad469Comment by inspzil: Just read your post, thought I'd pass along what I see about this. And about the 1 and the few 2's you got, unless its really a spot on image, you are going to have a few of those no matter what it is. The biggest thing wrong in my book is the horizon is off. Then second thing that I don't really care for is the framing. I'd have put a little more space on the left side to give the plane somewhere to travel to. The sky would've enhanced the picture if you could've found a few clouds. As it is it seems really flat, which is a big negative side to sepia toned pictures. Clouds would've helped, IMO
Overall I think you got a pretty fair score. Its not a bad shot, however I think that there are 2 very controllable factors that would've improved the shot. The sky issue is out of your hands. Good luck :)
edit: Bye correcting the horizon you would also make the plane seem like it was going a little more up than it is, as it appears in the photo it seems to be going straight left Message edited by author 2005-08-17 12:08:39. |

I didn't vote on this at all, so didn't vote it a 1, but I would have scored it down because the plane blends into the background very well. I might have wanted to see a bit more separation between the plane and the bushes/trees behind it. The sepia looks awesome, but also amplifies the lack of contrast there. Great shot compositionally though. Nice work. |
