Landingby RefocusedComment by ThingFish: Would have been nice to see the landing spot as well as now it just looks like the bird is suspended in space. Nice bokeh but the bird itself is lacking in finer details almost as if a bit unsharp possibly because this has been cropped from a much larger image a lot. 6 |

Wetby RefocusedComment by roz: i can just imagine being there taking this shot . and almost being a bit miffed that its for a slow shutter speed and not getting the bird's head in absolute focus . but thats probably just me ..
its a great image for the challenge and you have taken me into this moment with your photo .. good one . :) |

Eyeing Breakfastby RefocusedComment by roz: this is only the first one i've opened in this challenge .. and i cant imagine another one as good ..
of course having a 'creepy crawly' appeals to me .. but it tells a story .. a happy one for the slug and a maybe not so happy one for the capsicum ..
this is a magic image .. and unless i 'find' something else in this challenge to better it .. this is the blue for me ...
oh .. gotta give a 10 .. :) |

Wetby RefocusedComment by levyj413: Love the colors and shapes! And the moving head adds intrigue. This is a rare image from me that would work better if the bird were centered horizontally instead of off-center, or maybe have it a little to the right. |

Landingby RefocusedComment by organic: I appreciate the difficulty in capturing a sharp and low grain image of a bird in flight, but I don't like the editing style. I don't think this should have been black and white. Birds are too colorful |

Summer Delightby RefocusedComment by Refocused: Originally posted by roz: i've said it before and i'll say it again . your photos of birds are gorgeous ..
and the colours in this one are just perfect ..
the bird looks a bit like a canary .. would love to know what it actually is .
anyway .. congrats on the fourth place Larry .. :) |
Thank you Roz for your very nice comment. This is a male goldfinch. They are more colorful than the females. I planted sunflowers in my yard and deck. The goldfinches love the seeds and become more prevalent this time of year because they feed the seeds to their young. |
