Comment by KingLok:
Too much noise (distractions) in the background. Try a larger aperture setting, f2.0 -2.4. Increasing the zoom would help to create tighter DOF too.

Post-challenge comment: I really wish this picture would have done better. It's not perfect "technically", but it's so beautiful, and it gives the feel of dawn just right. I like the "fuzzyness", I think it adds to the picture. Oh well.

Engaging and puzzling at the same time. Interesting abstract.

Good portrait. Too much goings on in the background though. It's just a little too bright still as the sun dominates the top of the frame

The light is very washed out, but I think that works. Nice composition. I like the way the foreground elements blend to the background. It gives me a sense of taking a little journey through the photo.

Hi Lawrence. Ah another E-20 user :-)

When I first saw this image I was amazed at how deep blue the sky is and I wondered if you used a polarizer on your camera for this shot. The perspective is awesome and adds to the photo. The tree depicted as a silohuette is also amazing. The building in my opinion could have been left out as it is competing too much with the tree, also it subtracts a little from the "weather" aspect.

All in all a decent shot, but lacking on the "wow" effect.
