Nice idea. I like it, however I would have cropped a little more from the bottom, placing the bowl in the perfect center.

Wow! I can feel the velvety texture of those petals! Awesome detail and crisp focus. But...the positioning of the flower is forced into this challenge. There is far too much negative space that makes me wonder why?

your lighting really carves out the petals nicely. I wish that just one bloom was hanging from the top right corner not the buds too. It would be even more dramatic. I wonder how it would look with a different background color - say green or yellow to contrast with the flower's colors?

try diffusing your flash by putting some crumpled transpatent plastic in front of it, will soften the hard shadows and the glare on the sepals.
