A beautiful capture, Larry. And a beautiful story, to match. On a personal note, the discoloration of the yarn on the ball--the black-brown instead of the typical distressed red--gave this tribute a mournful warmth that might be lost on others. I distinctly remember that, shortly before she took first place with that baseball image, Beata made a throwaway comment about how winning a blue ribbon here would really feel a major accomplishment for her.
