Basically this looks like a picture of a sign. It's lacking that WOW! factor...although the color in the background is quite striking. And for me...it's a bit too centered all the way around, background is centered and the sign is centered adding to it's bland factor. 5 crisa58

Thank you for all the wonderful comments, as some of you have already guessed this was an infrared image with the levels adjusted to make the sky black, but as a byproduct I lost some detail in the forground. The shot was taken about five minutes from my home in a wildlife preserve in northern california at about 2pm, a bright hot day with not a cloud in the sky.
