Touching. I usually don't like the ones that I feel are emotionally manipulative - not on their own merit but specifically to meet the challenge. This one, however, I though was poignant. It's something a parent really would do. The timing is perfect too. This child would be 10 if still alive. The father could easily be mourning the chance he didn't get to teach his son to play ball. Although, actually the grave is far too pocked to be ten years old it seems. The child would likely be 110 years old, but that doesn't affect the score for me. 7-8, I haven't decided for sure, just-married

A bit harsh this picture, but reality. A bit controversial, i like that.
Just out of curiosity: did the ball and glove were there or did you put them there ?

The front tombstone is almost impossible to read. Since I think the inscription on the tombstone is supposed to be part of the main subject, maybe some different lighting would make the inscription easier to read. A shallower depth of field could also be used to blur out the other two tombstones a little bit. Nice composition...keep up the good work. 8.

Missed chance indeed. I wonder what the relation of the photographer is to the deceased.

A good photograph, but I'm not sure I get the connection between an old gravestone and ball/glove... maybe I just have a mental block right now.

Please don't take offense that this photo doesnt appeal to me at all. A recent loss of a little one very close to me makes this a hard photo to judge. Setting opinions/feelings aside, this is what I physically see...
The writing is a bit hard to read, but it appears to be a 4 year old, and by the ball and glove a assume it is a boy. (of course, that is totally an asumption, as girls play baseball too) The grave in the background seems to draw my attention more due to the fact that it's new and bright and the subject is old and dark. The focus is good as is the angle. Lighting was good for this photo. Good luck in the challenge.
