challenge -- met ... the billiard cue adds a nice sense of scale.
technical -- lighting's really good. there's a little bit of a reflection on the 8-ball but i suspect that was unavoidable and it's not much of a distraction either.
composition -- i like the 'random' stacking of the chalk blocks. would like to see the bottom one fully in focus, too, but that's probably already the full DOF the camera allows for macro shots, right? did you try a green background at all to suggest the felt of the pool table? overall, very nice image :)

I like this one a lot. The background works perfectly with the in focus subject. Strange color chalk! Ours is blue. :) Your focus is nice. Angle and framing/cropping are perfect in my opinion. Lighting is great. Very nice. Good luck in the challenge. ~Hbunch7187~

Looks sort of washed out on the cards. Maybe a bit oversharpened or shot at too high an ISO or compression probs. Just doesn't quite look right though. Nice idea - Good luck, Inspzil
