Indian Warsby falveyComment by kiwiness: The composition is good here as is the color combination. The sky appears a tad too grainy on my monitor for some reason. |

Indian Warsby falveyComment by BobsterLobster: I'm afraid this picture leaves me very little to coneect with... who was George Rowland? What Indian wars? Do you need to be American to understand the significance? Not enough sharpness, and the stone is burnt out. The grass showing above the horizon looks haphazard, and distracts the eye. Lighting is not very effective. 2 |

From the Backby falveyComment by frisca: I like the colours here, but I think the way the flower is lit has really taken away from it. It seems flat, and we are losing a lot of the texture and mystery of the flower with such direct, flash-like light. The colours are washed out some as well. I think your composition is great though and I like this unique angle! |

From the Backby falveyComment by pinback: Nice detail and interesting viewpoint. My criticisms are shallow DOF (soft in the foreground_ and the lighting which causes the front petals to shadow those behind. |

From the Backby falveyComment by kiwiness: Lovely colors, good submission. The only thing I could really comment on is that I would have prefered to see the whole flower sharp, the green at the front is burry. A higher aperture number would have taken care of this. |

From the Backby falveyComment by wetland: Meets the challenge and original idea. Nice rendering of the colors "from the back". Focus seems a little soft? |

From the Backby falveyComment by eloise: If you wanted to truly fill the frame with it, there's some extra space on all sides that could be cropped off. Sorry. A lovely shot, but not suited to this particular topic (as cropped). When you can see background about 70% of the way around the subject, it by definition hasn't filled the frame. |

From the Backby falveyComment by ellamay: This shot unfortunately has nt filled the frame, but I really like the perspective, clarity and the lighting. |
