I couldn't decide if I liked the pink or not - and then I decided to like it :-) The smooth, subtle focus and light are nice. Great looking lighthouse!

Technical: Well executed. Well exposed and crisp details.

Aesthetic: Very pleasing soft colors.

Challenge: Texture is evident so this perfectly suits the challenge.

Conclusion: Well, the flower pictures need to be "exceptional" to get good scores on DPC. The rule is fairly simple - if the subject is "common", there needs to be something really "different" in terms of composition, angle of capture of post-processing.

Your submission is really nice, but the "flower factor" might have not let it score higher. I wish you good-luck for future submissions. You have got some amazing pictures in your profile esp "Reflections in.." and "Canvas-Back..".
