Mine!!!by wsteynComment by Nald: Great shot here are my thoughts:
Composition is pretty good, I do like the three subjects all fighting over the ball. I would have liked to see the whole basketball in the frame. The background subjects are hurting you here as it makes this shot seem really busy to me. Also the cut off feet take away from the action. You have very nice tonal range throughout the shot that is pleasing to the eye.
What I would have done different is shot at a lower f-stop to keep the focus on my foreground subjects and blurred out the background subjects, this would give more emphasis on your three main subjects. I give this a 6. |

Ancient Stormby wsteynComment by gaurawa: you got some great clouds here. what i think can improve this further is some vignetting on the clouds, the 'heida' way :) |

Ancient Stormby wsteynComment by dwterry: Wow, you got some nice light on the building and some wonderful clouds to compliment it. :-) |

Redundancyby wsteynComment by Tygerr: I came back to look at this one again. It was one of my favourites in the challenge - gave it a 9. Had I known it was by a fellow South African, I might have given it that extra notch and made it a 10 ;-)
Well done. Great photo. |

Southern Caracaraby wsteynComment by RhinoStar: Out of all of your wildlife photos, I think I like this one the most. He certainly isn't the most naturally charasmatic of the animals--but this shot glorifies his unique features and makes him a stunner. His rough, leathery face is a perfect contrast to his soft, white, gentleman's collar. His beak looks like some sort of man-made metal! Also, most bird shots are profiles and the head-on p.o.v really makes this one stand out. Perfect! |

Golden Crownby wsteynComment by MayaM: Soften the brightness on the bird with a curves or levels adjustment and this would be perfect! |

Golden Crownby wsteynComment by raish: Very nice shot, but over-composed to my eye. The crown is too important to be so far up in the corner. I think if you want to use the 'rule of thirds', then you should apply it to the crown alone, as the head and neck are secondary elements in the composition.
If that sounds like I'm blowing hot air, then that's probably what it is :-) |
