The dodging you used is way to evident for my liking. It is great shot but I know there are other ways to help correct for an underexposed imagine so it is more subtle.

Very much like your play of shadows on this leaf. I would suggest that it is just a tiny touch too dark, though. (Yes, my monitor is calibrated) Still, it's an exciting image and you showed good imagination to bring out the beauty in the veins.
