this would have worked much better in landscape orientation and from a slightly lower POV. it seems to me that there is too much of the river and sky to be seen, while the person is crammed into the corner.

Since I couldn’t vote in this challenge, this is the first time I’ve had a chance to look at your image. My first impression of this image was “Nice shot”. You went with the traditional low perspective/wide angle look used in car ads and it worked well in this image. For me, the crop is a little tight in this image and from reading your notes, I understand why. You received a lot of good comments during the challenge that point out the little things that kept this image from scoring in the 6’s. Since this wasn’t your car, there wasn’t much you could do with the car to give it that polished car ad feel. Keep shooting and good luck in future challenges.

Doggie looks happy. Does he get to play with the Wii? I'm afraid this photo looks like a snapshot with a nice camera. Perhaps different lighting may have helped. The shadows are unappealing at the angle they are at, especially the one behind the tree.

The lighting is great, and so are all the colors! My only complaint here is that the composition is kind of confusing and cluttered. My eyes want to just sort of meander across the photo. Perhaps experimenting with differnt POV's, angles, and even rearanging the presents in interesting ways might give your photo more impact. Very good try though - the lighting is just right, and has created some very nice tones! :)
