As I noted during voting, this shot has lovely natural light - you really took great advantage of it! I find it interesting that your commenters seem split over the tree - some like it (or it doesn't bother them), some don't like it. I'm in the "like it" camp - I think it works just fine here. The colors are warm and natural, and I see from your notes that you didn't do much to bring them out - nice light hand with the processing. My only suggestion is as I noted during voting that it seems to be a bit oversharpened - this is visible mostly in the tree branches and it is incredibly hard to sharpen for web sized viewing without oversharpening tree branches. Overall, I really do like this picture and am surprised it didn't score higher than it did, but am pleased to see it made your personal top 5!
