Pinkby twm122Comment by tsheets: The bright green strip in the background keeps grabbing my eye. Otherwise, a very nice shot. |

Pinkby twm122Comment by nova: I can't pinpoint just exactly why I like this photo so much, but it's probably her eyes. I get the impression that she's a very strong individual, even for one so young. By the way, I personally would much rather see portraits without the cropped top of the head... just me but I thought I'd mention it. (8) Beautiful! |

Should I Stay or Should I Go?by twm122Comment by Arcanist: This image's concept seems to be hurt by the presence of the high fence and the highlights on the base that make this runner appear to be coming from home plate and heading to first. It does not appear to be a decision at all, but an action that naturally ensues after releasing the bat. Redemption comes on her face. There is a look of confusion/thought there that could indicate she is trying to decide if she is doing something the right way. That for me links this image to the challenge. A much lower DOF to try and blur the background out and a bit of spot metering closer to the most well lit area would have put much more emphasis on the runner and her expression eliminating the distracting elements and pushing this image into a higher bracket of communicating the 'decision'. Bumping to a 5. |

Early Morning's Lightby twm122Comment by nikuser: Greetings from the critique club:
I can imagine how wonderful it must have looked to see the sunlight reflected in the dew, however at this resolution it is somewhat hard to make out. The image would have been greatly helped if one could clearly recognise a central subject. Maybe a different angle/distance would have helped you achieve this. |
