At first glance, this photo captures your eye with the prismatic flare from the crystal on the shoe! It has a fun sense to it and makes you want to figure out where it came from. The composition is good as the shoes are laying in a way that appears as if they just were taken off and left there. The pearls just fell on them in a haphazard fashion, or so it seems, which adds to the illusion of the shot. The pearls seem a bit blurred to me. The black background does this justice, creating an almost no end to the shoes as to where one stops and the background starts. The lighting is effective especially on that "spark" of color in the center. Overall, I think it is a good capture, but maybe a little tweaking could be done to get the pearls to be perfectly focused. I like the originality of it and think you did a good job. Your imagination and creativity shined through on this one. Had this been advanced editing, I would have cloned out the labels on the inside. All the best, Judy

Try not to have objects in the background unless they relate to the subject. The tree behind her head and the path take away from the pose.

I appreciate the efforts here, but your model is over tanned, and over blinged. Too much going on with her look. Sometimes less is more. Background needed to be simpler also, less sidewalk. The lighting is good though.

Oh dear, this has such potential but that background really kind of ruins it for me :-( The subject has such great eyes but they stuggle too much with that bright green.

Your portrait is great - nice detail and pose. Your background however is distracting - the bright light on the grass and trees pulls my eye away from your subject.

Beautiful model, however with all the glitz, and glamour she would of been better suited for a background that housed expensive champagne or something a little more exquisite. I think the moods contrast in a nutshell, but still a good photo.

Without looking at the title I had guessed the D and L to be 'dressed up and lovely', so I was almost right and you got a message across. Excellent photo for the challenge in my opinion.
She is such a lovely girl too. Congrats!
The lighting on her skin does seem a little harsh. Hot spots on her left (our right) arm. She appears to have beautiful colored skin, but it seems a tad yellowish on her face and left arm from the lighting.
Focus is good. I like how her eyes stand out. I would like to see more distinction between the dress and the background. Not sure if some back lighting might help this? Maybe would also give her some light coming through her hair so that we could better see that from the background. See how it looks like she almost doesn't have hair cause it blends in so well? I think placing a light behind her pointing toward her back might help. Careful though that that doesn't light up the background. May be harder than it sounds.
