My only suggestion would be to try to reduce the glare off the tuba. Perhaps a polarizing fiter or some other type of filter?

I know you were trying for the widest angle possible, but excluding the glaring lamps could have made the image into better one. The lights totally overpower the rest of the delicate structure of the photo.

Those lights are way too distracting. Timing is everything. I would have waited until something interesting was happening on the field. There are also a couple hazy spots, one has a blue tint, possibly a slight lens flare. Maybe try using a lens hood, they work wonders, and will improve the contrast of the photo. Hope this helps.
