Tax Timeby rjpatComment by Physics_Guru: Nice depth of field. i think it would have been good to unfocus around the edges as well so you do not have the horizontal block in focus all the way across. |

Tax Timeby rjpatComment by kloutit: the DOF in this shot creates a band of focus from left to right which I find upsets the balance of an otherwise great composition. Just my taste, but I would have preferred a graduation from close focus to distant OOF. but.. as i said good composition. |

The Reality of Abstractby rjpatComment by mrfixitx: I would not consider snow on a few twis an abstract. The framing of the image could be better. Good DOF control and exposure control overal. |

The Reality of Abstractby rjpatComment by macrothing: 5 - Like this. Wish it were bigger (640 width in this case), but might be quality issues, so perhaps a selective softening of the background - not sure as that might alter/diminish the 'abstractness'. |

The Reality of Abstractby rjpatComment by Man_Called_Horse: I am sorry, but this is not an abstract, it is a close up.
Definition 1= Art that departs significantly from natural appearances. Forms are modified or changed to varying degrees in order to emphasize certain qualities or content. Recognizable references to original appearances may be slight. The term is also used to describe art that is nonrepresentational.
Definition 2=Not realistic, though the intention is often based on an actual subject, place, or feeling. Pure abstracion can be interpreted as any art in which the depiction of real objects has been entirely discarded and whose aesthetic content is expressed in a formal pattern or structure of shapes, lines and colors. When the representation of real objects is completely absent, such art may be called non-objective.
Nice comp, good lines, nice dof, texture ok, nice flow, b&w need help, color flat, overall a nice pix but not in this challenge |
