Pittsburgh, PAby alanfreedComment by BrennanOB: Yup, these are the sort of alarmingly loud and artificial colors that I think are right for a postcard. The way the font is pathed to follow the river bank is very nice. On the downside the brightness of the parking structure in the lower right is distracting, but such is the joy of basic editing. Family Manby alanfreedComment by ubique: A brilliant portrait. It harks back to those wonderful Farm Security Administration images from the 1930s and 40s but it has an altogether more optimistic character. No evidence of despair or disorientation here. The guy is a brilliant photographic subject, and the balance you have given him between his modest house and his loving boys makes a very fine observation about the essence of contentment. 9. |

Family Manby alanfreedComment by SaraR: Back to comment - in my top 4 of the challenge. The portrait is interesting, empathetic, natural and not contrived in appearance even if it did take a lot of posing!) and technically good. |
