Always fun to see a snowglobe. Maybe a tad more crispness somewhere and perhaps more of the base of the globe would make this fun piece even more special.

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives: Wow - how Nixtery! Quite marvellous use of blur but what is most striking here is the coloration with its subdued reds and greens. I really enjoy the sense of depth you have communicated here and how the light persists from front to back, even in the darker areas. The of course, there is the figure - or is it two? Though to me, I get a sense of suitcase before child.

Critical stuff: Nothing at all.

Quite wonderful. 10 and a favourite.

Seaspray and gulls

Wow! This shot is full of contrasts - the dark gulls against the white spray, the white headed gull against the dark rocks, the movement of the ocean against the smooth serenity of the sand, the power of the ocean against the solidity of the rock wall. I love it. The afternoon/morning light has captured the ocean spray beautifully.
