Abstractureby MelethiaComment by KiwiShotz: Even though I can tell what it is, I rather like the symmetry and compositon. The colours work too. What doesn't work quite so well is the depth of field. Since you were some distance (6ft?) from the lower cornice and perhaps 9ft from the roof edge, you should have been able to get all the planes in focus. You'd have to use the smallest aperture that you have available, at least F8.0. With the amount of light available, you'd still have had a shutter speed that wouldn't blur. |

Blue Eyes (aka Yet Another Cat Picture)by MelethiaComment by mk: I'm taking your advice. :) Beautiful cat shot...stunning eyes. I love the kitty's coloring, too. A plainer background might be nicer but I realize that cats aren't really down with posing when you want them to and you're limited by basic editing rules. |

ShadowGooseby MelethiaComment by Caltrop: I hope you don't mind some constructive crit. - the title of the challenge was "your shadow II" if this is your shadow I am not exactly sure what planet you are from. I would not understand the photo without the title and even then it is an extreeeeeeme stretch. The photo itself is difficult to look at - kind of makes me sea sick. Good luck - I did not mean to sound harsh but when I give such a low score I figure I should explain why. |

ShadowGooseby MelethiaComment by KiwiShotz: I don't get it. Is this your shadow strobed? It's hard to be sure it is about you and your shadow. If it is, it's one of the best I have seen |

Emmaby MelethiaComment by olddj: We are owned by a sealpoint too, (along with three dogs and a black cat too, all female OUCH!), understand the problems with taking photos of them, but I know that you will take better overall photos of your cat. Obviously you know the background is not the best, so will not mention that again! This is not a bad photo in any form, but to me there seems to be lots of room for improvement, and remember, this is MY opinion only. First, the lower left part of the cat (in the photo, right side of cat), the shadow of the cat, the cat and the background all seem to blend together. Secondly, from a viewers standpoint, the cat is looking OUT of the photo, leading the viewer to wonder what she is looking at, rather than concentrating on the actual photo. That pose is also not as attractive overall as a straight on or profile shot USUALLY! You also seem to have lost a little sharpness/focus on the cats right eye - left one in photo, not badly, but I did notice that. Overall did a good job on the fur, at least in my opinion, and as I was entered in this challenge, I chose not to vote on it, but would probably of scored this a five, because it was not bad in any sense, but could of been so much better IMO.
