Carts B&Wby MelethiaComment by sibeling: I love the tonal range you've captured here! I think I like this better than your challenge entry. Yup, I do. |

Emma againby MelethiaComment by Lorene: I did the same thing jpochard did. Beautiful cat, and image. The only thing I'd like to see is the tips of the ears, but it's minor! |

Sunday afternoon catnapby MelethiaComment by Kelli: Trading post...
I thought this was adorable. Beautiful lighting (how do you do that?) as always. And what a sweet little kitty he is too! The concept was very cute as well, who can resist an afternoon nap? |

Very digital arty. I like it. I just think in the freestudy that there where just so many standouts this got left behind. |

P-i-P (a nod to jjbeguin's lovely duotones)by MelethiaComment by digitalknight: I haven't commented on this? How could that be?
This is cool on so many levels - loved it when I saw it in the challenge, love it still!
The textures are just - hmm - it's like I can taste them! It's beyond being able to feel them, it's like an expereience - the repetition in the composition, the beautiful curves of the lamp base (not once but twice) - the texture in the lamp shade - how do you get texture in a lamp shade? Mine tend to just blow out!
Really it's kind of beyond my ability to express how this makes me feel - hopefully that gives you at least an idea of how cool I think this is.
I think it comes down to the magic of photography being so manifest here. It's a simple scene, could be any house (although it feels kind of retro so it calls upon memories I didn't know I had) but photography turns this simple scene into something that calls up all this emotion. Isn't that just magic?
Great work! To say the least - |

Parkedby MelethiaComment by timfythetoo: Man - I wish I had been able to vote on this challenge. So much good stuff. This one struck me as I breezed through the entries. A diferent type of shot for a Free STudy and very well done. The processing really takes this way beyond a pic of ordinary daily stuff and well into art - and very good art at that. Great lines, perfect crop and composition and the b&w contrasty feel is wonderful. The 15 voters who gave you below 4 must have been wanting pretty people, perfect landscapes or close up animals and not willing to give it up for something artistically different. Very nice eye on taking the pic and excellent postprocessing Deb. You would have scored very well with me. |
