This is a brilliant capture. Spot on focus for the bird and fence. The subtlety to this is the key to this image. There does seem to be alittle fuzz or something under his beak as I look at this longer that could have been cloned out - but nothing major. Excellent image that sneaks up on the challenge and grabs it by the short hairs. Well done.

I really like the composition, especially the way the red handles break up the image and lead the eye up through the frame. Clarity is good, light is great, I'm not sure why this didn't do better.
