That does look like a good photographic location. Pity the architect did not make those collumns without the white mortar between the bricks. But that is not your fault. The family at the egde is very pleasingly composed - considering it is at such a distance, the people are very clearly defined. It is a pity the people do not have some sort of shadow to show and it is a pity the sky is not one of those amazing white cloud in blue surreal ones you sometimes see. With a little processing I think the sky could pop out a bit more.

For a photo to do really well in a challenge called "Shadows", those shadows must play a major role in the image. In this case, they are secondary at best.... several other elements create the impact.
