The overall look of the image is clean and simple. The background circle is a little too blurry to see what it is (a cracker, a plate,...), However, there are no distracting elements in the frame. This allows the viewer to focus on the tomato slice and its details. Simple, yet effective.

I was in the process of bumping my vote from 8 to 9 when rollover beat me so unfortunately it remained as an 8. Great find for the challenge, not such a great thing to land nearby. I hope you didn't get stung. I really like the processing, composition, textures and the narrative aspect of your photo.
