Clearing Storm, Dawn — Truroby Bear_MusicComment by nordic: Beautiful indeed - have visited Truro often, never seen it like this though! The composition is good with the zig zag sand leading the eye in. Only one slight winge is that the horizon is slightly off horizontal to me, which is a bit of a shame, good luck |

Opting for Flightby Bear_MusicComment by mycelium: I feel like the decision should be clear without having to read this title. In this case, it isn't, so even though it's a nice picture in its own right, I don't think it meets the challenge well... |

Sand & Shells, Sunsetby Bear_MusicComment by Bear_Music: It's funny; I look at this and see an image that would fit right in a Sierra Club book. I see an image that would fit into an Eliot Porter portfolio if the damned thing were shot with a view camera exactly as otherwise done here. What I do NOT see is a 98th-place image in a granularity challenge.
I'm coming to realize there's no place in DPC for the contemplative detail, the textured nuances of art. I mean, I always "knew" this, but I figured "In a challenge the TOPIC of which is "granularity", surely such an image might find its home!" I was wrong. But I still like it a whole hell of a lot. |
