I gave this 9, which is more than I gave anything else and I gave a lot of threes out for this challenge. Looking through the field, it seems that the texture and colour of bread are difficult and elusive. Maybe your 'plain jane processing' comment could provide a clue :-)

Actually looks pretty darn yummy, and I'm not big on food pictures. I do like bread though. A lot. The bread in the foreground and the bread the knife is in are not the same - what's the foreground one with the nuts/seeds in it?
