Hmmm. I feel like you had plenty of texture going for you in this picture (and it would have scored higher on my vote) without the "baking". Everything else about the exposure, I like. Sorta seems like you're making the salt the main course, instead of the seasoning. (Still voted above average)

i'm a huge supporter of post processing. in fact i get my share of comments about it, a few not so supportive. for me personally, i think its over processed. so much that it takes the attention away from the concept or assignment given. the technique is cool and you have done a great job with the skill, but i'm not sure it works here. jmho of course.

It's not so much an interesting perspective but more of an interesting subject. The snow on the jetty is soft but not underexposed and the subject is placed nicely, I'd like to see the sky be a little more defined, to mirror the complexity of the bottom. Nice usage of the hairline border too.
