Dogwoodby marinajoeComment by Gracious: Very appealing image. I like the way the subject stands out beautifully against the dark bg. |

Transmissionby marinajoeComment by adine: I betting you are going to hear this question a lot - but I'll ask anyway - what is it? I'm intrigued. I like the burning orange color against the blue (I'd crop the top black unless I'm just clueless about its meaning) The leathery texture of the mark in the middle is a strange contrast with the soft blurr of the rest of the photo. I'd say crop top and left to make it completely abstract - |

Dogwoodby marinajoeComment by qachyk: Hmm, I begin to suspect this will be a common theme. This is nice, however; it meets the criterion and the overlap of leaf and peta, particularly at the top left where the deeper colours meet, captures the essence of the topic nicely. It is also framed well, with the focal points surrounding the center. |

Transmissionby marinajoeComment by shadow: i have gone thru this photo for the 3rd time, but I'm still unable to figure out the meaning it is trying to convey, or even what the subject is. |

Dogwoodby marinajoeComment by Niten: harsh shadows and the leave in the top left is distracting. A cloudy day or hold a difuser over the light would make this a better photo. Nice textures |

Dogwoodby marinajoeComment by Gordon: meets the challenge but the strong, contrasty sunlight breaks up the colours and textures in an unpleasant way |

Dogwoodby marinajoeComment by frisca: i feel this is more pink than red. The shadows are a bit harsh too, which takes away from the elegance of the flower. I think too that the focus may be a little soft, but not badly so. Compositionally, there is something missing that gives a centre of attention, perhaps if the rightmost flower petals from the other flower were cropped out? Just some ideas. :) |
