While I'm definitely an advocate of getting shots of cute girls in bikinis, I'm afraid this one seems a bit weak both in terms of the challenge and photographically. I'm not sure I understand the "unanswered" aspect of it, and she's really quite grainy and out of focus. May have also worked a little better as a vertical shot to capture more of her.

This doesn't inspire any questions for me as it looks like a seashore snapshot. I guess I could ask why you would submit a shot with such soft focus! 4 Jak

My primary unanswered question is why your autofocus doesn't work. Sorry.

Without the title, I'm thinking this is just another shot of some girl in a bikini at the beach. With your title though I'm thinking that maybe she dropped something into the water and is looking for it? The focus here is really blurry. Also, the horizontal water line chops her head right off. I think it would habe been better to see that horizon in a different spot. Not sure if it's the focus or the lighting, but something is drawing the detail right our of her face. Would like some more clarity there. ~Heather~

GREETINGS FROM THE CRITIQUE CLUB!

Ok, you're taking a picture of Miss Liberty which is a stature thats been photographed at least a billion times. With this sort of competition, you can be sure your score is going to suffer for every minor detail. We've seen too many perfect shots before....

The shot looks to be in good focus, but the cropping at the knees wasn't the best move. The shooting angle is too average. This angle can work if you have 'something additional' to make the photo original. Like if we had some early morn or late evening light bathing the stature in a nice glow, the angle wouldnt make a difference. But with the current light setup this angle is a bit boring. The cloud formation to the left of the statue detracts attention away from the main subject also...

In short, I'd say its a decent photo, just needs 'something special' to make it different from every other Liberty photo I've seen. If you live close enough to the harbor, I'd say venture out again when the weather/light is more favorable, and get her feet in the shot next time!

I guess flow is supposed to indicate the reflection? The tilt of the building? Not sure, but it doesn't convey liquid to me. a fairly interesting shot on its own, though the colors are muted and it's a bit grainy. Better weather or time of day might have helped. 2

Sorry, no liquid. Glass is a fluid, not a liquid.

Okay, let's see if I'm right. The building and its shadow are "like" waves? Otherwise, this doesn't look like liquid. That said, I do indeed like the patterns you've created here with lines and angles.
