This is the definition of a great work of art. Simple subject. Good effective use of lighting, and good conversion to b/w. Nice setup with the shoe, especially the laces. And excellent choice of subject and title.

Great simplicity in composition and very good lighting. The only thing that I would change is that the hole on the top is out of focus. That is what your eye naturally gravitates to and it's a bit distracting. Overall, great photo.
