Actually, this idea has striking potential to me! However, the execution is falling flat. I think the blue tarp/bag on the top of the screen is supposed to be a garbage receptacle...unfortunately it's really not obvious upon first looking. The half hand on the bottom right unsettles the image. I think a direct downward shot would have had much more promise. In addition to a more clear presentation of the garbage can/bag, I also feel that the fresh cut vegetables aren't..."garbagey" enough, trashing it up and blending them more together to create a more cohesive visible spectrum would have more effect in my opinion. A very good idea though. :)

The title is a bit long-winded but kinda good anyway, lol. I might have said biodegradable or something instead of recyclable. Nice vibrant colours, could be a wee bit sharper, composition could do with a tweak; I'd have perhaps included the full hand and shown the outskirts of the bin. Nice effort overall.

Anyway I think that you could obviate the background and concentrate the attention just in the colors, because I think that your intention it's just the foreground, isn't ? And using that title it's enough to replace the back (just my opinion...)
