I don't know why I like severe vignettes so much; they're just an affectation when done to this extent, and I know it.
But I actually like the brutality; the uncompromising effect created. In this photograph I was interested in using the preposterously excessive lower edge vignette to mirror the shapes and weights of the background hills. Making the truck (bakkie) become a part of ΓΆ€“ or an echo of ΓΆ€“ the landscape. I did a horse like that once too, though with a less extravagant vignette.
