I'm just going to give you a blue ribbon for this epic piece of Hieronymous Bosch Albrecht Durer madness. Let me dive into your grass of horns. Somehow the vignette and the ridiculous title only make it better.

What a capture. But I just can't get away from the sharpening halo on the bird - it keeps pulling my eye there.

Maybe I like your picture that much because it remembers me of one my own pics, here is a link if you are interested:
gentle soul
It is accompanied with a childrens poem, this is a rough translation (at least I tried):

Highly sensitive

The elephant is big and tall
But gentle is his nature
His heart is made of creamy quark
His soul is tender like a violet

Once this big, tall elephant
It wasn’t on purpose , I swear!
Stepped on the circus director’s hand
They both wept bitter tears

That's a lovely comment, and a sweet/sad picture & poem that you linked as 'gentle soul'. I despair when I see elephants in any place other than the wild; I don't think there's anything that makes me feel more bereft than that. I think it's very good that you found a meaningful way to picture a captive elephant; an Indian elephant I think? The elephant is entombed in concrete. It feels everything, its captors feel nothing. You moved that line a little bit. Thank you.

My only 9 of the challenge. I wish I could say I'm shocked to see it this far down, but I'm not.

I could stare at this one all day, the rising dark and the piercing bright. Top mark from me.
