Composition: Overall good placement though maybe a little too close or the crop slightly too tight on the left. 6

Exposure: Though the colours look true to life and the texture is quite visible in the peeling paint I feel the lighting is a bit flat. More lighting across the subject would help emphasize the texture but also give life to the subject. 5

Impact: Neutral. In addition to the lack of light I feel the impact is lost with the shallow DOF. The bottom 1/3 of the image is out of focus and I feel this takes away from the image. 5

Overall: 5

This shot could have been made a little more interesting (and textured) with the use of some sharpening

What a beautiful flower. I think it is a bit crowded at the top. Maby a close crop would have better. Or if you would have cloned out some parts of the flower in the top of the image.

Keep on trying. I see potential in you. Good idea using a window as backlight.

Good luck in future challenges.

Not a riveting photo but a good, successful experiment which could yield some great results for you.

im guessing you are going for the soft sensual look, i think you should have kept going with it. This almost seems like an intermediate step in the process.

To me, the backlighting looks a bit too harsh. I'd perhaps like to see it toned down a bit.

white is an inherently difficult colour to capture in a photo.. I think you've done a nice job with this.

To me, more seperation between flower and back ground would be very nice, as in a different tone of white.
