Great photo but I don't think it captures the essence of 'high contrast'. It would have scored high with me if it met the challenge better. I only see a few spots with *visual* high contrast, and nothing that contrasts anything else by the other meanings of the word.

PS: in this challenge I was looking for photos that contain both visual high contrast and things that contrast eachother in different ways. Your photo is still very nice.

I agree, great urban image!
I like it all. The street looks so quiet and simple. The "door keeper" who is actually watching the store that is inside of the building, somehow makes me think that there are strange things hidden in each and every house along the street. Makes me want to walk along and check em all.

and what a threat the dogs are.... LOL

Looks very distorted perspective-wise. I think this is one of the hitngs that make it such a great image though!
