Impactby messerschmittComment by ericwoo: Your focus and exposure are near flawless, but I get a more window-lit feeling to this one than a window-framed. Perhaps cropping tighter on the man and getting him out of the center of the fram would have improved it for this particular challenge. All of the elements fit with each other very well, just not for this challenge. |

Impactby messerschmittComment by skewsme: Love the perspective, the lines, and the filtered light. Possibly darken the man a little bit? |

Impactby messerschmittComment by hanneke: nice catch. did you try black and white with this photo? could be more expressive I think. I wonder what kind of building this is! |

Impactby messerschmittComment by ubique: Great location! Very fine use of light, very fine control of tone, and really terrific composition. Also nice to see the idea of "window framed" interpreted with some subtlety, rather than as an overly-literal smack in the head.
I can't avoid seeing this man as a prison minister or priest. And it's not just his stance with bowed head ... it's that you have managed to suggest an unexpected cathedral in this location, complete with soaring stained-glass windows! So he must be a man of God, musn't he?
It's one of the two best and most thoughtful images in the challenge (other one's called Bored on a Rainy Day).
I'll give it a 10 (which is no favour; a 10 from me is inevitably the kiss of death ... sorry!) |
